Why This Matters

Addresses growing electric RV market gap with hybrid solution for extended off-grid use

LA-based startup Evotrex closed a $30M Series A to build hybrid RVs that don't need charging stations. The company plans to produce 1,000 units annually starting next year, competing in the emerging electric RV market.

Evotrex raised $30 million in Series A funding, bringing total funding to $46 million, led by Chinese and Hong Kong investors including GSR United Capital and Forebright Concerto Capital. Anker is among seed investors. The company builds hybrid RVs using extended range electric vehicle technology - battery packs recharged by onboard gas engines for off-grid living. Co-founder Alex Xiao, former Anker product manager, said 90% of orders are for the $160,000 Premium trim PG5 model. The startup faces competition from all-electric RV companies like Lightship and Pebble, while legacy manufacturers Thor and Winnebago have been slow to market. Evotrex plans 1,000 annual units starting next year after 10-12 months of durability testing.
