Conductor AI coding tool acquired by Meta
Original: Conductor is joining Meta
Why This Matters
Meta is quietly building out its AI coding toolchain through acqui-hires.
Conductor, a multi-agent coding tool launched in July 2025, is joining Meta. Conductor Cloud shuts down Nov 20; local app continues with updates until early 2027. Active subscribers get refunds.
Conductor, the AI-powered multi-agent coding app that launched in July 2025, announced it is being acquired by Meta. Founder Charlie shared the news on the company's website, confirming the team will move to Meta to work on an unspecified next project expected to launch in early 2026.
The shutdown timeline is tight. As of Nov 4, no new sign-ups are accepted and free users can no longer upgrade. Conductor Cloud goes read-only on Nov 13, with full deletion of cloud user data beginning Nov 20. Users can transfer cloud workspaces to local via a right-click menu, or export all data through Settings → Account → Export data. Active subscribers will receive refunds.
Local Conductor will keep receiving new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027, giving existing users a runway before the full wind-down. The company stated it has never sold or trained on user data, and all data will be deleted when the app shuts down.
The acquisition terms were not disclosed. Conductor describes itself as SOC 2 Type II certified, and its footer already reads "Conductor from Meta © 2026 Meta."
