Spur's platform helps enterprises differentiate legitimate human users from increasingly sophisticated bot traffic, targeting threats concealed behind criminal VPNs, residential proxy networks, and anonymization infrastructure. Insight Partners' Thomas Krane stated: "Organizations are increasingly operating with a critical blind spot: they can see the activity, but not the infrastructure behind it."
The funding comes amid a historic milestone in internet traffic. As of mid-2026, bots have surpassed human activity online for the first time in internet history, according to Cloudflare. CEO Matthew Prince noted on X that agentic AI traffic drove bots past humans ahead of earlier projections, citing the company's latest traffic report. The rise of AI agents and automated systems is intensifying demand for infrastructure capable of identifying and blocking malicious non-human traffic at scale.
