Anthropic's Fable 5 generates video games with single prompts
Original: Anthropic’s Fable 5 can make weirdly fun video games with the click of a button
Why This Matters
Shows AI advancing to generate complete software applications from simple prompts
Anthropic released Claude Fable 5, first public version of its Mythos model. University of Pennsylvania researcher Ethan Mollick created multiple video games including Snake, Strata, and Duino using single prompts in Claude Code interface.
Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5, the publicly available version of its Mythos AI model. AI researcher Ethan Mollick tested the system and found it 'outperformed basically every other public model by a considerable margin,' working up to dozen hours on multi-page specifications. Using single prompts, Mollick generated complete video games including Snake (classic arcade-style game), Strata (exploration game in underground tunnels), and Duino (based on Rilke's poetry cycle). He also created an isochronic travel time map with detailed accuracy. The model demonstrates capability to produce complex software projects that previously required entire development teams from simple text prompts.
