BAG Ventures was built on a straightforward premise: enterprise AI is moving past the 'let's try it and see' phase, and only startups delivering measurable, integrated value will survive procurement reviews. Co-founders Bontia Stewart — who spent 17 years at Google, including nearly a decade as VP and a board role at Gradient Ventures — and Jackson Georges Jr., a former CapitalG partner, launched the firm after co-running BAG Collective, an angel syndicate with over 450 members.
The $11.3M fund closed after roughly two years of active deployment. Portfolio companies include software firm SXD, AI travel agent BizTrip, and agentic reasoning platform Nomadic. Investment focus areas span AI infrastructure, compute, edge AI, security, governance, and vertical SaaS.
The firm's LP base — over 150 in total, including Google, and operators from Nvidia, Amazon, and Snowflake — is positioned as the firm's primary differentiator. Georges framed the pitch plainly: 'Founders needed inside access to the organizations they wanted to sell into.' Beyond capital, BAG offers warm customer introductions and go-to-market guidance.
Georges's thesis targets what he calls the end of the 'experimental sandbox' era. Enterprises, he argues, are now focused on unit economics — paying for deterministic, workflow-integrated solutions rather than open-ended AI tools. Automating code reviews and parsing legal documents were cited as examples of where real enterprise value is emerging.
