Titan OS Raises $46M to Scale Smart TV OS Globally
Original: Titan OS raises $46 million to expand its smart TV OS internationally
Why This Matters
Titan OS's Philips win signals real momentum against Google TV in the OEM market.
Barcelona-based Titan OS raised $46M in equity and debt from BlackRock, Highland Europe, and Mangrove Capital Partners, bringing total funding to $110M. The smart TV OS now serves 30M users, up from 18M last year.
Titan OS, the Barcelona-based smart TV operating system startup, announced a $46 million raise on Wednesday — a mix of equity and debt — with debt facilities from BlackRock-managed funds and participation from existing backers Highland Europe and Mangrove Capital Partners. The company raised $58 million last year, pushing its total to $110 million.
The user base has grown from 18 million to 30 million over the past year, helped by new hardware partnerships with Sharp, AOC, Vestel, and Skyworth. A standout win: Philips dropped Google TV for Titan OS across its 2026 TV lineup. The company also works with TiVo as a sales partner in select regions and Tubi in the U.K.
Titan OS's model gives TV manufacturers a path to revenue through FAST channel partnerships and on-screen advertising rather than upfront licensing fees. CFO Hyoung-Ung Kim described a "flywheel effect" where broader reach attracts more ad agencies and sales partners.
Headcount has grown to 250, and the company opened a London office focused on advertising. New funds will go toward AI-powered content discovery, ad targeting, and geographic expansion. SVP Tobias Pfalzgraff stressed that unlike Google, Titan OS has no proprietary content to push — positioning it as a neutral discovery layer.
