Apple has officially announced the iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable smartphone. When unfolded, the device features the largest and thinnest iPhone display ever — a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display that is 50 percent larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The outer display offers more than 90 percent of the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro, allowing core functionality without opening the device.
The iPhone Duo is powered by the A20 Pro chip with vapor-cooling technology for sustained performance, paired with a dual-battery system designed to deliver all-day power. The camera system includes a 48MP Dual Fusion configuration covering both front and back. An under-display FaceTime camera keeps the inner screen surface uninterrupted.
Durability features include a Grade 5 titanium frame and hinge cover, scratch-resistant coating on the inner display, Ceramic Shield front and back, and IP68 water and dust resistance. The device supports multiple usage orientations — Landscape, Portrait, Closed, Seated, and Standing — with reimagined iOS 27 experiences including Split View multitasking. Siri AI, described as 'more personal and more powerful,' is included and currently rolling out in English. The device is available in Night Sky and Star White. Pre-orders begin October 16 at 5:00 a.m. PT, with availability starting October 23.
