Wispr Flow, the AI dictation app valued at $700 million, has officially launched a meeting notetaker for Mac. Similar to Granola's approach, the tool captures meetings via system audio — meaning it does not need to join a call as a bot participant. It transcribes conversations in real time, cleans up transcripts, generates action items, and allows users to query their full meeting history using AI. Users can also ask AI to catch them up mid-meeting via a live transcript view.
The launch was preceded by an update to Wispr Flow's Terms of Service, which added new sections covering meeting data usage. The updated terms stated that input may include 'meeting audio, participant information, meeting metadata, speaker labels, and meeting transcripts,' while output may include 'AI-generated transcripts, summaries, action items, meeting insights, and speaker attribution.'
With this move, Wispr Flow enters a competitive market that includes Granola, Fireflies, Read AI, Otter, and Fathom. Co-founder Tanay Kothari had previously discussed building a broader AI assistant. Wispr Flow has raised over $81 million to date, and Bloomberg reported in May 2026 that the company was in talks for a new funding round at a $2 billion valuation.
