Canonical confirmed the 'sustained, cross-border attack' on its website. The hacktivists used Beamed, a DDoS-for-hire service that claims to power attacks exceeding 3.5 Tbps. TechCrunch verified that updates failed on a test Ubuntu device during the outage.
