Carrier-Explode 2.0 Decodes iPhone, Pixel & Galaxy Settings
Original: Show HN: Carrier-Explode: iPhone, Pixel and Galaxy carrier settings decoded
Why This Matters
Rare public dataset exposing carrier network feature support across major device platforms.
Carrier-Explode 2.0 launched as an open tool decoding carrier config files from iPhone, Pixel, and Galaxy firmware, exposing APNs, VoLTE, Wi-Fi Calling, and 5G settings by carrier and device.
Carrier-Explode is an open-source project that pulls carrier configuration data directly from iPhone, Pixel, and Galaxy firmware and makes it human-readable. Version 2.0 ships with a significantly improved backend. Users can look up any carrier's APN settings, VoLTE support, Wi-Fi Calling availability, and 5G configuration across all three device families in one place. The tool also lets you compare any two firmware versions or carriers side-by-side to see exactly what changed between builds. All data is available via a JSON API or as a daily CC0-licensed dataset for anyone to download and use freely. A wiki explains each data format. Decoders are still a work in progress, and the project is actively seeking contributors on GitHub. The CC0 licensing means the data is fully public domain — no attribution required.
