Pinterest launches AI 'Restyle' room redesign feature in beta

Why This Matters

Restyle could sharpen Pinterest's path from inspiration to transaction, a gap advertisers have long wanted closed.

Pinterest announced 'Restyle' on September 17, 2026, a beta feature launching in the U.S. and Canada that lets users photograph their rooms and use AI to visualize new decor, furniture, paint colors, and full style overhauls before buying.

Pinterest is rolling out 'Restyle,' an AI-powered room visualization tool announced at its annual Pinterest Presents event. Currently in early beta for U.S. and Canadian users, the feature lets people photograph their own spaces and prompt the AI to add or swap furniture, wall art, accessories, lighting, and paint colors — including items sourced directly from their saved Pinterest boards. Users can click individual objects to erase or replace them, or request a wholesale aesthetic shift using style prompts like 'bohemian,' 'industrial,' or 'dopamine décor.'

Restyle runs on Pinterest Intelligence, the company's AI infrastructure stack announced earlier this week. That foundation combines Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Nvidia Dynamo with open-source models and Pinterest-built technology, aimed at improving the Pinterest Assistant's visual search capabilities and converting searches into shopping signals.

Room restyling is hardly a new concept — general-purpose AI assistants have handled similar requests for some time. Pinterest's bet is that baking the feature directly into its platform gives the saved-pin workflow real purchase momentum: if users can see a pinned chair in their actual living room, they're more likely to buy it. A broader rollout is planned for October 2026.
