Nothing's AI-First Device Ships in December
Original: Nothing CEO says company’s mysterious AI-first device is dropping next month
Why This Matters
Screenless AI hardware is an unproven market; Nothing's entry tests consumer appetite.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei confirmed on X that the company's first 'AI-native product' launches in December 2026. It has no screen and cannot be an app, Pei said, calling it a productivity tool.
Nothing, the London-based startup known for its distinctive Nothing Phone lineup, is preparing to ship what CEO Carl Pei calls its first 'AI-native product' next month. Pei announced the December launch on X Wednesday, offering deliberately sparse details: no screen, not an app, built as a productivity tool — and infused with 'the personality and care' the brand is known for.
Pei also distanced the product from the crowded AI wearables space. 'The whole industry is hunting for its iPhone moment: the pendant, the pin, the glasses, the companion,' he wrote, adding, 'I admire the boldness, but I read this moment differently.' That framing explicitly sidesteps comparisons to Humane's AI Pin or Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses.
The company has separately announced AI-linked smart glasses and AI-integrated earbuds, so this device appears to be a third, distinct category. No pricing, exact release date, or further specifications have been shared.
