Lyft blocked a driver who used Gemini AI-generated images showing fake damage to charge teenage passengers $75. Father Bert Gor disputed the claim after his daughters denied making any mess, with one spotting the Gemini logo watermark in the photos.
A Lyft driver attempted to fraudulently charge riders $75 using AI-generated images of fake car damage. Bert Gor's two teenage daughters, ages 14 and 15, were charged after a beach trip on May 16. The driver submitted photos allegedly showing spilled drinks, fries, and yellow stains on seats. Gor's daughters denied causing damage, stating they had no food or drinks. When disputing the charge, Gor obtained the photos and his daughter spotted the Gemini AI watermark in the bottom right corner. 'Dad, that's AI. You could see the Gemini logo,' she told him. Lyft acknowledged the images were AI-generated, apologized, reimbursed the fee, and permanently blocked the driver from the platform.
