Business insurance startup Corgi raised $160 million Series B led by TCV, reaching $1.3 billion valuation just four months after its $108 million Series A. The Y Combinator company has raised $268 million total since founding in 2024.
Corgi announced its Series B funding round on Wednesday, achieving unicorn status as Y Combinator's latest billion-dollar company. Co-founder Nico Laqua confirmed the $160 million raise led by TCV, with participation from Kindred Ventures, Leblon Capital, and First Order Fund. The startup, founded by Laqua and Emily Yuan in 2024 as part of YC's Spring 2024 batch, offers business insurance coverage including general liability, cyber liability, and tech and AI liability. Customers include Deel and Artisan. 'We want to use the fresh capital to expand into more lines of insurance and build a generational company,' Laqua told TechCrunch.
