In May, Apple settled a class action lawsuit for $250 million tied to allegations that it misled customers by promoting Siri's Apple Intelligence capabilities before the features were actually ready. The revamped Siri is now shipping with iOS 27, but buyers from the relevant window can still seek compensation for what they didn't get at purchase time.
Eligibility is limited to US customers who bought certain iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 models directly from Apple between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. Each qualifying device could fetch up to $95. Apple denies wrongdoing, stating it 'resolved this matter to stay focused on delivering the most innovative products and services.'
To file, go to smartphoneaisettlement.com and click 'File A Claim.' You'll need either your iPhone's serial number (found under Settings > General > About) or your Apple Account ID. A Claim ID and PIN are optional. Payment can be received via PayPal, Venmo, electronic bank transfer, or paper check. Multiple devices require separate submissions. The filing deadline is December 21.
