GrapheneOS announced completion of its Android 17 port on the official Android 17 release day. The open-source security-hardened Android distribution has ported Android 17 for all supported devices and has already built and tested the port on Pixel 6a, 7, 7a, 8, 10a, 10, and 10 Pro Fold. GrapheneOS is pushing code to public repositories today, enabling developers to build and test the port themselves. A final official release based on Android 16 QPR2 is being built today, with initial Android 17 releases scheduled for tomorrow across all supported devices. The project will begin public testing for official releases starting tomorrow. GrapheneOS noted that initial public releases will follow the standard alpha/beta/stable release cycle, meaning most users on the stable channel will not immediately receive Android 17. Users can track rollout progress by device on the GrapheneOS website. Those wanting to test early can opt into the alpha channel through System Updater, though this may carry risks.
