Google has updated its CC AI agent to focus on family household management, supporting up to six family members. The tool integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive to handle tasks like permission slips, meal planning, shopping lists, and tracking kids' schedules—giving CC its own Google account to enable shared collaboration.
Google is testing a revamped version of CC, an AI agent originally launched as a personal productivity tool that delivered a 'Your Day Ahead' briefing via Gmail. The agent connected to Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and the web to summarize a user's day. In May, a version of the feature appeared in the Gemini app as 'Daily Brief.'
The latest update pivots CC toward families. Google says user feedback indicated demand for household management—tracking kids' school schedules, sports practices, doctor appointments, and bills. In response, CC has been rebuilt around that use case.
CC now gets its own Google account, letting it act as a collaborator rather than just a passive assistant. Up to six family members can each choose what to share with CC—emails from schools, sports teams, clubs, travel companies, or medical providers—either by forwarding manually or setting up automatic sharing rules. CC will also proactively suggest email senders to add each week.
On the task side, CC can fill out permission slips or registration PDFs, build school supply shopping lists, plan weekly meals, calculate drive times between activities, and auto-populate a shared Google Calendar or task list with confirmed appointments and school events. It will follow up with family members when information is missing. Google competes here with AI startups like Ollie and Fambot, which have similarly targeted parents and family coordination.
