The content includes Advanced Stories for reading comprehension and DuoRadio for listening skills. B2 level represents materials without translations, complex scenarios, and specialized vocabulary according to CEFR standards. The company positions itself as the only free app offering advanced-level learning across these languages, while competitors like Babbel and Busuu typically require paid subscriptions for similar content. Previously, Duolingo's free courses were capped at A2 or B1 levels focusing on basic communication. The move targets job seekers, as research shows learning a second language can increase employability by up to 50%.
