Demonstrates legal tech as emerging high-growth AI application area beyond coding

Canadian legal tech company Clio announced its annual recurring revenue reached $500 million, doubling from $200 million in mid-2024. The growth acceleration follows AI integration in 2023, as legal tech emerges as a major AI application area.

Clio, an 18-year-old Canadian law firm management software company, reported reaching $500 million in annual recurring revenue after surpassing $200 million in mid-2024. CEO Jack Newton attributes the sharp revenue growth to AI integration starting in 2023. The company, valued at $5 billion in a $500 million Series G round last November, provides time-tracking, invoicing and payment tools to law firms. Competitors Harvey and Legora also reported significant ARR milestones of $190 million and $100 million respectively. The legal AI market faces new competition as Anthropic expanded its Claude for Legal features, creating tension since Harvey and Legora rely on Claude as a core model.
