Why This Matters
Expands enterprise AI adoption by integrating Claude into AWS infrastructure and billing
Anthropic announced the general availability of Claude Platform on AWS, enabling AWS customers to access the complete Claude API feature set with AWS authentication, billing, and commitment retirement while maintaining access to Amazon Bedrock.
The Claude Platform on AWS provides AWS customers with full access to Claude API features for the first time, with new features and betas shipping simultaneously with the native Claude API. The platform integrates with AWS IAM for authentication, CloudTrail for audit logging, and consolidates billing through a single AWS invoice that retires against existing commitments. Customers can use existing AWS credentials and IAM policies within their current cloud operating model. The platform will be available in most AWS commercial regions supporting global and U.S. inference geographies. Claude also remains available on Amazon Bedrock where AWS serves as the data processor. Jonathan Echavarria from an unnamed organization praised the platform for simplifying Claude access and improving the experience for Claude Code engineers while enabling integration of AI capabilities into cybersecurity and engineering workflows.
