Why This Matters
HomeView is Apple's direct entry into the competitive smart home display market dominated by Amazon and Google.
Apple announced HomeView, a 7-inch smart home display with Siri AI, 12MP camera, Spatial Audio, and multi-user recognition for up to six people. Pre-orders are open; it ships November 13.
Apple has unveiled HomeView, a tabletop and wall-mounted smart home display aimed at becoming a household hub. The device features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone, ranging from 500 nits peak brightness down to 0.3 nits — Apple's lowest ever — making it suitable from sun-drenched kitchens to dark bedrooms. A proximity sensor adjusts what's shown on screen depending on how close you are.
The 12MP Center Stage camera keeps video call participants in frame as they move, while four beamforming microphones handle far-field Siri requests and FaceTime calls. Speakers in both the base and display deliver Spatial Audio.
Siri AI, powered by Apple Intelligence, underpins the device and can recognize up to six individual users, serving each a personalized experience. It pulls context from calendars, messages, and other personal data. Available in English initially, with usage limits noted.
Four finishes are offered for the tabletop model (Silver, Starlight, Rose Pink, Space Gray), while the wall-mounted version comes in Silver and Space Gray with both wired and plug-in mounting options. The domed aluminum base uses a stainless steel hinge for display adjustment.
Customizable clock faces include Photos, Snoopy, Calendar, Weather, and Flow — an interactive art face that responds to movement.
