Sill: Stream Any Mac Window to iPhone/iPad Free

Original: Any window from your Mac, on your iPhone and iPad

Why This Matters

Serverless, peer-to-peer screen sharing fills a gap Apple's own tools leave open.

Open-source app Sill streams any Mac window live to iPhone or iPad via HEVC video encoding, supporting touch, Apple Pencil, trackpad, and keyboard input. No account, no server, no cost. 2.3k GitHub stars.

Sill is a free, open-source Mac utility that streams any window—or the full desktop—to an iPhone or iPad in real time. The Mac app captures the target window using ScreenCaptureKit, encodes it as HEVC video via VideoToolbox, and transmits it to the iOS client. Input flows the other direction: taps, scrolls, keystrokes, and Apple Pencil strokes all pass back to the Mac.

Connectivity options are flexible. Sill works over a shared local network, a USB cable, or Direct Wireless Connection when no shared network exists. For remote access, it supports VPN solutions like Tailscale. There is no intermediary server and no account required—the connection stays between your own devices.

Built with Swift and SwiftUI, the project has picked up 2,300 GitHub stars and 101 forks since launch, with 37 open issues and 22 pull requests indicating active community involvement. The repository is licensed under Apache 2.0.
