Anthropic Launches ROI Reporting Tools for Enterprise AI
Original: Anthropic just launched tools to show companies what their AI spending is buying
Why This Matters
Enterprises demanding AI ROI visibility signals a market maturing past hype into accountability.
Anthropic on Oct. 28, 2026 released enterprise reporting tools letting managers track team AI output, token costs, and workflow breakdowns, as the company reported 900% net revenue retention and an operating profit in Q2.
Anthropic's new suite of reporting tools is a direct response to a persistent enterprise complaint: companies are spending more on AI than ever but struggle to quantify what they're getting back. The tools pull from internal analytics and employee surveys to give managers a view of team output over a set date range, associated token costs, and where workflows stalled. Recommendations for improvement are included. Anthropic says customer data won't be used for model training by default. The launch lands alongside striking financials: the company reported an operating profit in Q2 and 900% net revenue retention year-over-year — meaning the same customers spent nine times more in Q3 2026 than Q3 2025, driven largely by Claude Code adoption. Anthropic is also rolling out pooled group token budgets for team-level spending management. The timing reflects a broader market shift. A Jellyfish report covering 276,000 developer customers found that Claude Code and Anthropic-based tools account for nearly a third of all code changes submitted for review, with spending on those tools up 10x since January — now roughly 2% of total engineering cost. "Even if you're saying 2% is still small, that 10x growth is growth that most CFOs didn't plan for," said Jellyfish chief scientist Nicholas Arcolano. OpenAI's Astra model, released this summer, hasn't visibly dented Anthropic's adoption numbers so far.
