Indian startup Pronto secures $20M from Lachy Groom after 20-minute pitch
Original: A 20-minute pitch wins Indian startup Pronto backing from Lachy Groom
Why This Matters
Highlights growing investor interest in India's on-demand home services market
Solo investor Lachy Groom invested $20 million in Indian home services startup Pronto after just 20 minutes with founder Anjali Sardana. The Series B extension values Pronto at $200 million, double its valuation from two months earlier.
Lachy Groom backed Bengaluru-based Pronto within weeks of their February meeting, which was arranged through Paul Hudson of Glade Brook Capital. The 24-year-old founder Anjali Sardana, formerly of Bain Capital and 8VC, launched Pronto in 2025 to connect households with workers for cleaning and home services. Groom said he was impressed by Pronto's ambition to build the world's largest platform for organizing domestic labor, starting with India's unstructured workforce. Sardana noted that Groom's investment approach is 95% founder-focused. The deal comes as multiple Indian startups compete to build instant home services platforms for urban households adopting on-demand services.
